Description: Introducing Version 4.0 of the Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe)
The Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) has always been based on well-known, proven lean-agile practices cadence, small batches, limiting WIP, continuous integration, self-managed teams, etc. These practices increase an organizations productivity, quality, and economics. The newly released SAFe Version 4.0 offers several additions. SAFe 4.0 is now built around
Value Streams for coordinating and aligning an organization on value delivery. The
Solution Intent communicates the systems intended behavior and design decisions and provides a technical repository to support impact analysis and compliance.
Enablers define exploration work for requirements and design that is performed in flow with the development and construction work. Finally, engineering practices including
Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE), Set-Based Design, and Architecture are integrated into the agile deliver system.
This talk presents the new SAFe 4.0 and discusses how these additions, and others, help large systems realize the benefits of lean and agile practices.
